I am immensely proud to mark the first anniversary of our Squirrels section—a truly momentous milestone! What a spectacular year it has been!
This incredible journey began in January 2024 when two outstanding young leaders, Imogen Tomlinson and Maisy Kettle, took on the ambitious challenge of launching the section. With my full support as Group Lead Volunteer, and the invaluable guidance of Explorer Scout Leader Joshua Fletcher, they built something truly remarkable. In September 2024, we were delighted to welcome Farah Hussain to the leadership team, further enriching the section with her enthusiasm and dedication.
Over the past year, our Squirrels have flourished—earning an impressive number of badges, embracing exciting new challenges, and taking part in a wealth of adventurous activities. Their laughter, curiosity, and boundless energy have been a joy to witness, and it stands as a testament to the exceptional leadership and unwavering commitment of Imogen, Maisy, and Farah.
A huge and heartfelt congratulations to Imogen and Maisy for not only designing an engaging and inspiring programme but for delivering it with such passion, creativity, and dedication—all while serving as young leaders. Their efforts have provided our youngest Scouts with an unforgettable year of discovery, growth, and fun, demonstrating remarkable leadership, commitment, and enthusiasm at such a young age.

As we look ahead, I have no doubt that this section will continue to go from strength to strength.
