At Squirrels our young people try new things. Make new friends. Joining Squirrels is the beginning of their Scouting journey

Who are Squirrels?

Squirrels are young people aged 4 to 6 who:
  • Master new skills and try new things
  • Have fun and go on adventures
  • Make friends
  • Are curious about the world around them
  • Help others and make a difference, on their own doorstops and beyond

What is Squirrels about?

Squirrels is a fun place to learn about nature and complete fun new badges, get in touch with your creative side, and even camp under the stars. You’ll make awesome friends and work together to earn badges for all sorts of activities, like building shelters or spotting wildlife. Plus, it’s a fantastic way to learn new things and get a break from screens. If you love exploring and having a good time, Squirrel Scouts is definitely the place to be!

What do you do at Squirrels?

You’ll tell stories and play games. Get active and explore the outdoors. Become a brilliant builder and a super chef. There’s something for everyone – and that means that there’s something for you.

Can you earn badges?

Whilst in Squirrels, you can earn:

  • 12 Activity Badges
  • Four Challenge Awards
  • a Top Award
  • a Membership Award
  • a Joining In Award
  • a Moving On Award

What’s been happening at Squirrels?

  • Activity Day 2025
    On Saturday 21 June 2025, we held our annual Activity Day and AGM. It was great to see over 90 members of the group come together to celebrate the scouting year at 19th Hendon (3rd Mill Hill) and 3rd Mill Hill Guides.   • 1 Year of Squirrels

  • AGM/Activity Day 2024
    On Saturday 29th June 2024, we hosted our AGM and Activity Day at Mill Hill Rugby Club.
